The changes that matter before your next pull
The official announcement is titled “Oct. 27 (PDT) / Oct. 28 (CET)” and displays October 28 on the page. That naming describes one Global update, rather than two different sets of balance changes. The values below belong to that announcement; do not apply them automatically to Korean or Taiwanese characters.
Start by checking your character and the content difficulty. Base HP is a level-45 baseline, not your final equipped health. Boss Attack, Damage Boost and HP are separate attributes. A reduction to one is not a direct measurement of the damage your character will take.
| Change | Official value / scope | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Gladiator / Templar HP | 4,702 → 6,202 at level 45 | Compare equipped HP; keep your assigned defensive tools. |
| Other six base classes HP | 4,702 → 5,702 at level 45 | Retest a survivable pull before buying more defense. |
| Normal Expedition / Transcendence 1 | Boss Attack −15% | Observe incoming attacks in the same difficulty. |
| Hard Expedition / Transcendence 2–4 | Boss Attack and Damage Boost each −10% | Keep mechanics and revival limits in the plan. |
| Transcendence 1–2 | Boss HP −6.5% | Retry a previously close timer after checking survival. |
Assassin: rebuild your defensive schedule around 60 seconds
Illusive Clone’s base cooldown changes from 90 to 60 seconds. Put the new cooldown into your boss notes and check the actual cooldown displayed with your own specialties and equipment. A shorter base cooldown creates more opportunities to use the tool; it does not mean you should activate it on cooldown when no dangerous attack is coming.
Heightened Sixth Sense also receives increased HP effects: 1,000 / 2,000 / 4,000 at skill levels 5 / 10 / 20 in the announcement. These are the listed effect values at those levels, not additional class-base-HP increases to add a second time. Compare your current tooltip rather than interpolating an undocumented value between checkpoints.
Practical adjustment: preserve your Insignia preparation and rear access, then schedule protection around attacks that force you out of position. If a boss becomes untargetable shortly after the opener, carry burst into the next usable window. Nothing in this patch establishes a new universally strongest four-Stigma set.
Gladiator and Templar: more room to recover, same party responsibility
Both classes gain 1,500 base HP at level 45. Together with reduced boss attributes, that can justify retrying content where a single heavy hit ended an otherwise controlled attempt. First repeat the encounter with the same equipment and watch what actually changed.
For Gladiator, keep the activation and resource pieces of the Slam loop intact. Replace a defensive flex choice only after the group is reliably handling the damage event it covered. For Templar, keep the boss facing predictable and confirm the protection assignment with the healer. The HP increase is not permission to direct frontal attacks into the party.
Sorcerer: October fixes make older demonstrations harder to compare
The October 14 notice fixes elevation-related bonus damage for Fire Wall and Cold Storm, the interaction where another player’s stronger Embers or Frostbite removed your own effect, and an elevation-related Bittercold Wind cooldown-reduction issue. A recording made before those fixes can show behavior that no longer describes your Global client.
The October 21 notice then fixes Cold Storm bonus damage on targets with stacked Frostbite, a Frostbite effect that did not match skill level, and an extra application after Specialty 1’s area ended. Fire Wall’s extra damage on targets without Embers is also corrected. These are different fixes: do not summarize them as one unconditional damage buff.
Practical adjustment: inspect the target’s debuffs, use a comparable target and safe cast position, and confirm the current interaction before changing skill investment. A visual effect alone does not prove the intended bonus damage triggered. Avoid judging the build solely by an old screenshot or a single cast.
Spiritmaster, Chanter and the remaining classes
Spiritmaster’s October 14 fix addresses Summon: Ancient Spirit at level 15 or below failing to activate skills properly. If an early summon previously appeared unreliable, check it again in the current client before deciding that the skill needs a different rotation. The notice does not claim every summon or every specialty changed.
Chanter’s October 21 Spinning Strike change fixes skill effects not displaying correctly. Treat it as a presentation correction unless another source establishes a mechanical change. Keep mantra and recovery coordination separate from conclusions drawn from a new animation.
Ranger, Cleric and these two classes share the +1,000 base-HP change at level 45 in the October 28 notice. Recheck the survival margin while keeping range, healing coverage and resources consistent. Brawler is not included in that Global class table; its separate regional reference page is not updated with these numbers.
A useful post-patch review takes one controlled comparison
Use a repeatable sequence to decide whether a change is worth spending on. If you change equipment, specialties and the party simultaneously, you lose track of which adjustment solved the problem.
- Record region, class, relevant skill totals, equipment and the exact dungeon difficulty.
- Inspect changed tooltips, especially Assassin cooldowns or the corrected Sorcerer interaction.
- Repeat a familiar encounter with the existing loadout and note deaths, resource gaps and lost attack time.
- Change one flex skill or one item to address the remaining problem. Keep the core interaction available.
- Save the working setup with a dated encounter note in the build planner. Recheck when later official notices change it.
How do these choices change a real loadout?
You survived, but the group still reaches Frenzy
More HP can solve an early death while leaving poor uptime untouched. Review whether damage dealers lose access to the boss during mechanics, whether buffs are spent during an unavailable phase, and whether MP runs out. Restore a consistent attack loop before turning every survival slot into damage.
A Transcendence Stage 2 attempt also receives the stated boss-HP reduction, while Hard Expedition’s entry and timer rules are a different subject. Identify the activity precisely before attributing a successful retry to one numeric change.
Your old Sorcerer rotation suddenly looks weaker
Check whether the comparison relied on Fire Wall dealing bonus damage without Embers or on Cold Storm applying an extra Frostbite after its area ended. Those behaviors are specifically covered by the October 21 fixes. A corrected interaction does not show that your new item caused the difference.
What should you check before investing?
Does −10% Attack and −10% Damage Boost mean I take exactly 20% less damage?
No. The announcement changes two boss attributes. It does not provide a final player-damage formula or establish a flat 20% reduction to each incoming hit. Compare actual attacks with the same character, defenses and encounter.
Should I replace all defensive Stigmas after the HP buff?
First repeat the content with the existing setup. Keep protection required by the encounter or assigned by your party, then consider a specific flex replacement if the original risk is consistently covered.
Does this update confirm a new class tier list?
No. HP changes, cooldown adjustments and bug fixes do not establish a comparative damage ranking. This guide provides a review method and sourced patch facts, without claiming controlled class DPS tests.
