AION 2 Daily Priorities, Gear Transfer and Ariel Fragments

Choose the reward your next build improvement needs, then decide which limited entry or material to spend. The October Global updates add Odylium Repository, expand crafted-gear Amplify levels, enable more Expedition-to-crafted transfers, and connect Hard Expedition fragments to Ariel progression. Here is a decision process for using those systems without treating every available purchase as mandatory.

Decide your next unlock before using a daily entry

Write down one concrete target: restoring a skill specialty after a gear change, securing enough recovery for a group encounter, obtaining Soul Crystals, or progressing the Ariel board. Check how far you are from that target and which activity supplies the missing resource. A longer list of completed activities is not useful if it consumes the entry needed for the resource you actually lack.

The new Odylium Repository provides a set number of Soul Crystals (Bound) based on clear points. Its entry count is shared with Daeva Bio-Research Base. They are alternatives against the shared count, rather than independent extra daily runs. The notice does not publish a complete score-to-reward table, so inspect the current reward preview before choosing.

  1. Check remaining shared Daily Dungeon entries in the current client.
  2. Compare the reward preview for Odylium Repository and Daeva Bio-Research Base against your next upgrade.
  3. If trying Repository, record your clear points and actual Soul Crystal reward; do not assume a maximum payout.
  4. Spend the entry only after making that comparison, then update the materials still missing from your target.

Crafted gear: the Amplify ceiling changed

The October 28 announcement increases the maximum Amplify level for the listed crafted families. It also states that crafted and Expedition gear with comparable stats will have the same maximum Amplify level. The table below records the named changes; it is not a claim that every crafted item now shares one ceiling.

A higher ceiling is an option, not an upgrade order

Before amplifying, compare the actual piece with your replacement plan. Check its relevant skill bonuses, the specialties you keep after equipping it, and the resources required by the next step. A temporary piece can now accept more progression while still being a poor use of your limited materials.

For a healer, preserve the recovery and MP that let you complete the pressure phase. For a tank, preserve the protection the encounter needs. For damage, make sure the core activation and sustain loop survives the replacement. The patch supplies ceilings, rather than a universal best-in-slot list or market-price recommendation.

Check the new Expedition-to-crafted transfer direction

The notice enables Tier 3 Expedition Gear → Tier 2 Crafted Gear and Tier 2 Expedition Gear → Tier 1 Crafted Gear. Its example is Enraged Kromede Necklace → White Dragon Lord Necklace. Read the arrows as the stated source-to-destination direction; the notice does not establish that every reverse transfer is available.

Open the transfer preview with the actual source and target. Inspect which values carry over, any costs, eligibility text and the outcome for the source item before confirming. Those details must come from your current client: the announcement does not document every item’s fee or complete retention behavior. Keep useful skill totals in view alongside the new Amplify cap.

Practical sequence: compare both equipped setups first, inspect the transfer preview second, and only then decide whether to invest in the target. A matching tier relationship does not prove that the target improves your role or preserves the skill interaction you use.

Ariel Fragments: reserve a progression target before converting leftovers

Hard Expedition fragments connect to Ariel progression through Substance Morph. The listed conversion is 100 Ariel Fragments for one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), with a limit of up to 30 conversions per character; the notes also describe dungeon-specific availability limits. Check the exact fragment recipe and remaining allowance in your own client. Do not assume different named dungeon fragments can be pooled.

The alternative listed conversion gives five Enhance Stones for one Ariel Fragment with no conversion-count limit. That can look convenient when enhancing a piece, but fragments spent there are no longer available for the crystal recipe. Choose between a progression unlock and immediate enhancement based on the target you wrote down.

1 Ariel Fragment5 Enhance StonesUse only after checking whether it delays the next crystal target.

Example: 120 matching fragments and one unfinished crystal target

Suppose you have 120 fragments accepted by one crystal recipe, the recipe is available, and you still need that crystal. Reserving 100 leaves 20 for another decision. Converting all 120 into stones instead returns 600 stones and leaves no fragments for that immediate crystal. These numbers follow the published exchange rates; they are an arithmetic example, not a recommendation that 20 fragments should always be spent.

If the crystal recipe is already exhausted, your next decision changes. Check another progression need and whether the fragment has any remaining relevant use before spending. Avoid relying on an assumed drop rate or a fixed number of runs: neither notice gives enough reward quantities to calculate a guaranteed time to completion.

Treat shop limits as a budget boundary

The October 28 notes list Instant Clear Ticket: Nightmare and Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon at 30,000 Kina each, up to 14 of each per server per week. Buying one full fourteen-ticket allowance costs 420,000 Kina. Buying both full allowances would cost 840,000 Kina. Those are spending totals, not a daily requirement or a claim that either purchase is profitable.

Odyle Energy also returns to listed weekly limits of four per character and sixteen per server after the transfer period. The temporary per-character twenty allowance is removed. Check both counters before allocating purchases across characters; a character’s unused allowance does not remove the server-wide boundary.

For a short session, handle expiring rewards you actually need, choose the shared Daily Dungeon entry, and progress the next material target. Optional tickets and additional characters belong after that plan, especially when buying them would delay an equipment improvement.

Keep a progression note you can reuse tomorrow

Record the current region and date, target item or skill, materials still missing, the daily entry selected, remaining recipe allowance, and what you intend to reserve. This makes it easier to recognize whether a new reward changes your next decision.

Use the planner for the loadout and its skill totals, with progression notes for the intended encounter. After equipping or transferring gear, reopen the skill page and confirm total ranks and specialty selections. A saved loadout is a notebook and cannot validate the new equipment automatically.

How do these choices change a real loadout?

The new crafted item raises combat power but breaks your loop

Check which skill bonus disappeared. If a required specialty is no longer selectable, compare the simpler rotation available with the new piece against the old complete setup. A higher Amplify ceiling does not restore a missing skill interaction by itself.

Avoid paying for extra amplification to solve what is actually a missing-rank problem. Identify the legitimate rank source or a different gear combination first, then compare the whole upgrade path.

You have time for only one daily activity

Compare the actual reward preview against your one missing resource. If Soul Crystals are the bottleneck, Repository is relevant, but confirm its shared entry counter and the reward you can realistically earn. No measured clear-speed or payout comparison is claimed here.

What should you check before investing?

Does Odylium Repository give a separate daily entry?

No. The October 28 Global announcement states that its entry count is shared with Daily Dungeon: Daeva Bio-Research Base. Check the common remaining count before entering either.

How many Ariel Fragments make a crystal?

The published recipe uses 100 Ariel Fragments for one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), up to 30 times per character. Check dungeon-specific recipe eligibility and the remaining limit in the current client.

Can I transfer any crafted item back into Expedition gear?

The cited changes specify Expedition-to-crafted directions: Tier 3 to Tier 2, and Tier 2 to Tier 1. They do not verify unrestricted reverse transfers, every item pairing or every retention rule. Inspect the actual client preview.
